2008 SPRING/SUMMER TRAIL RIDES!
You MUST have a CLSC or ATRA membership to attend the local trail rides and must have an ATRA membership to attend the summer mountain trips they organize. CLSC also puts on some fun horse shows May 4, June 1, Sept 28 that are for members only, and you have to join a few weeks before the shows. 4-H members are CLSC members already.
FOR ALL SUMMER MOUNTAIN RIDES BELOW:
Limited trailering space available, first come first serve, based on deposit cheques received (post-dated August 1/07 for full trailering amount payable to Lisa Friedenberg.) Trailering rates are based on full trailers, so if we can't fill a big trailer, everyone will be given the option of backing out or paying the extra.
Horses must be shod or wear easy boots. Our farrier charges ~$130+GST for shoes. Everyone is responsible for their own accomodations (tents/camper), snacks, drinks for all meals, and lunches. We will go together as a group for breakfasts and suppers (cost $60.00 per week). If you would like to borrow a horse from the stable/Lisa for any of the trail rides, cost to use horses is an additional $75 for the week and $25 to borrow tack + GST (saddle, saddle bags, back cinch), limited horses available. Leasors and Boarders that have 1 horse and 2 riders will be given priority on borrowing horses.
EVERYONE will be responsible for feeding and cleaning up after their horse. Everyone must bring up their own feed tubs and water buckets and 2 rubbermaid containers of cubes (that will hold 36 scoops of cubes total), for all trips. There may be some extra room in some vehicles for people and luggage, but some people may have to bring up their own luggage, horse feed, etc, and we may charge for those not having to drive their own vehicles.

August 4-10 to Yaha Tinda, southwest of Sundre
You must be a member of www.ATRA.ca (and have a current AEF membership) to attend this ride and some trail experience would be helpful. Adults only please. No camping fees, horses must be highlined or tied to trailers, no corrals or stalls available. Cost for trailering is $231 (including GST).

August 11-17. "Fun Getting Lost with Lisa" Trip
Lisa will be going to explore somewhere new (maybe Crescent Falls?) If you and your horse have mountain experience, and don't mind getting lost, let Lisa know if you want to come (maximum 3 people unless you have your own trailer). Cost for trailering is $231 (including GST).

August 18-24 to Kananaskis
ATRA also has a mountain trip to Little Elbow Equestrian Campground, for any level of rider. Anyone riding must be a member of www.ATRA.ca (and have a current AEF membership) to attend this ride. Kids are welcome to attend, but they should have enough experience to be safe, and need adult supervision if they are under 14. Parents are welcome to come and camp even if they don't ride--there are lots of hiking and mountain biking trails, and only 15 minutes away are the quad trails. Camping fees last year were $25/per night per campsite (2 people/2 horse stalls). Additional $5/night per additional horse stall, group discounts may apply. Cost for trailering is $262.50 (including GST).

August 27-Sept 1, Hummingbird Recreation Area/Ram Falls
For any level of rider. Anyone riding must be a member of www.ATRA.ca (and have a current AEF membership) to attend this ride. Kids are welcome to attend, but they should have enough experience to be safe, and need adult supervision if they are under 14. Parents are welcome to come and camp even if they don't ride. There are quad trails here, as well as an outfitter beside the campground that we could book trail rides through if anyone wants to come that doesn't have a horse or wants to only ride a couple days, last year you could go on a half day ride for $35. Will get 2008 rates if anyone is interested, but Lisa knows they are very reasonable. Cost for trailering is $231 (including GST).
Get those deposit cheques (payable to Lisa Friedenberg, and please write which trip on the cheques) to her soon to reserve your spot for May Long Weekend or Summer Trips -- if you have your own trailer, just let her know you are coming for camping space -- if you have extra space for horses, let her know that also!
